Michelin & Cie Upgrades Brothers’ Restaurant to 3 Stars in Spain

Michelin & Cie. sets up a new 3-star restaurant and promotes four establishments to 2-stars in the fresh guide to Spain & Portugal, which goes on sale today.
Moreover, EI Celler de Can Roca, the Girona venue operated by head chef Joan Roca and his brothers Josep and Jordi, is Spain's latest to capture top ranking in the French dining guide. Seven now hold coveted third star which includes Ferran Adria's EI Bulli.
Nineteen more restaurants got the first stars in the guide, taking the figure to 130 as compared with 12 that hold two. The new two-star set-ups are Casa Marcial, Lasarte (Hotel Condes de Barcelona), La Terraza del Casino and Les Cols.
Clermont-Ferrand, France-based Michelin, the world's second- largest tire maker has been publishing dining guides for more than a century. Three stars denote "Exceptional cuisine, worth a special journey:" two stars, "Excellent cooking, worth s detour:" one star, "Very good cooking in its category."
According to the sources," Spain and Portugal 2010 costs 25.50 euro ($38) and will also go on sale in France in mid-December."
