It has been revealed by Coach Craig Levien that despite the legal issues going on in the life of Garry O Connor, he still has a future in the game and shall continue to play for Scotland. According to statistical reports, the man has so far hit 10 goals in 11 games for the nation, in the season.
However due to a number of controversial reasons, he wasn’t made a part of the Euro 2012 squad for the country that would play against Spain and Liechtenstein in the following month. O’Connor, who is 28 years of age has so far had 16 caps, but hasn’t played International football since the last two years. His last game being a world cup qualifier match he played against Netherlands.
"Garry is getting back to the position where he's feeling fitter, he's a regular in the team, his confidence is growing gradually as he is getting more and more games”, said the coach.
He further added that there are other issues on O’ Connor’s mind right now and that he needed a little time to clear his mind and set his priorities straight before he can get back and concentrate on the game.
