The film academy of Spain has decided to send their firm based on post-war drama, named Black Bread (Pa Negre), rather than the critically acclaimed ‘The Skin I live In’ for this year’s entry from their country for the best film in foreign language category of the Oscars.
It was revealed by Isona Passola, the producer of the film, that it would be great if the film won the award, because it well deserved. The director of the film had put in a lot of hard work and it would be good to get recognition for the same. The other film was also critically acclaimed a lot, but the authorities went for Black Bread.
The film was held back for seven years due to controversies and unfavorable circumstances. It was after that, that the director filmed the move and also gained a different sort of audience for it, other than the usual followers of his films.
There are a number of other countries who still have to put in their entries for the award. There were 65 entries last year. The Oscar is the most prestigious award for the film fraternity all over the world and it is a much awaited event every year.
