Recent reports have revealed that the most favorite tourist spot for Britons is now France. It used to be Spain earlier. These details have been revealed according to a research conducted by Savills International and Home Away. The reason for the same is believed to be the sort of conditions prevailing in the residential market in the country.
People from Britain used to love to go to Spain for work and leisure, taking long breaks from their routine lives. With the economic downfall witnessed in Spain, there has been a shift seen in this trend and it has come from Spain to France.
Another reason for the decline is that people now cannot think of secure homes for themselves in Spin after retirement, considering the market conditions. The wealth tax is France has been decreased as well, and this is the reason for the growing popularity in the French Alps as well as Southern France.
There are also other facilities coming up for the people thinking of buying second homes in France such as air conditioning and private pools, making the offers all the more lucrative.
"Clearly, holiday home owners and tourists share similar preferences for overseas properties", said Rebecca Gill from Savills International.
