Spain’s Parliament Dissolved Ahead of Elections

Recent reports have revealed that the Prime Minister of Spain Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero has taken a drastic step and has dismissed the parliament just before elections. He further announced that there shall be stricter measures followed for effectively dealing with the economic crisis, if there be need for steps to be taken before the elections that are to be held in November.

There has been a meeting called by Zapatero on November 20 that is being held nearly four months before decided. This is for the purpose of talks on the small signs of recovery in the economy that could bring down the unpopularity levels of the government, after many measures of austerity in the nation, where there is huge rate of unemployment.

It was further revealed that the falling standards of economy in the euro zone has called for serious steps to be taken and has made the government bring in even more reforms, in order to try and avoid any more bailouts, like the ones that have been done in Ireland, Greece and Portugal.

"Zapatero is likely to try to maintain the low profile he's adopted from here on out”, said Carlos Barrera, a teacher of politics at Navarre University.
