Germany was thrashed by Lithuania, as the final scores recorded were 84-75. Also, the Serbian basket ball team managed to reach the level of quarter-finals of the European Championship.
As per Serbia‘s shooting guard Milenko Tepic, "We got sweet revenge for going down in the same fashion against Turkey last year, but the most important thing is that we beat a great team and progressed to the knockout stage”.
Spain will be playing a match against Finland or Slovenia, in order to reach the semi-finals. France will be playing Greece which won the tournament in 2005. Germany needs to defeat Lithuania by at least 11 points in order to reach the quarter-finals, whereas, Nowitzki needs to score an extra 37 points to help his team reach the next level.
On the contrary, the players of the Germany don’t seem to be charged up and there are chances of their losing the next match. As per German Coach Dirk Bauermann, Nowitzki is a strong player for Germany and is an aspiration to many youth fans.
The player scored 16 points by striking 4 out of 17 shots as he was being given a tough battle by the player of Los Angeles, Chris Kaman.
