The government is of the hope that they shall be able to collect about 5.3 billion Euros by selling two of the major cities in Spain. It could also earn a lot of public deficit for the public coffers.

Each of the airports is going to be privatized by about 90.5%. It has been revealed according to a statement by the AENA that the five bidders are bidding for stakes at both locations.

For the airport in Madrid, groups from Spain like Abertis and Grupo San Jose are among the top bidders. As for the other airport, bids have been put forward by GMR Infrastructure from India, and firms from Singapore and France.

''AENA appreciates the large numbers of candidatures presented, as it's proof of the interest of national and international companies in the management of the two main Spanish airports”, it was revealed.
