Trinidad and Tobago is reported to be preparing in style for their World Cup qualifying match later this month, as they won with three points against the demolition of India, who had zero in an international friendly match at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, in the Port of Spain.
Also, playing with the exception of their Europe-based stars as well as only one survivor from their 2006 World Cup squad, veteran striker Stern John of Trinidad and Tobago, who is said to be ranked 65 places above India, succeeded in overcoming the visitors.
India coach Armando Colaco after the match stated: “T&T is a very strong side and they really played positive football. The boys too gave a good account of themselves but excelled only in patches. We need to be consistent with our performance".
However, India lagged behind early in the game, when defender Raju Gaekwad and former Turkey and Holland-based striker Darryl Roberts were caught inside the danger zone and John came out and made no wrong move from the spot.
Though they lost the game, India is said to have made an effort to make the most out of the game, as the ‘ideal long-throw’ by Raju had Syed Rahim Nabi getting to the ball.
