China Beats Canada and Spain for the ‘Light Title ‘

Festival organizers have reported that China has surprised the judges by presenting their fireworks on the first night of the 21st competition of Light Title. China has invented fireworks more than 14 centuries ago and it was a close competition. The three shows were produced by Sirius Pyrotechnics of Montreal.

The Pyrotechnic Producer, Patrick Brault has reported that the presentation and choreography of China was flawless and judges have enjoyed a lot by watching their work in the competition. China was at the top position in this competition and they have won the Light Title by beating Canada and Spain in the competition.

The Celebration of Light Project Manager, Andrea Dowd-Dever has revealed that on Saturday, around 300,000 people have visited beaches and English Bay to watch Canada's presentation, titled as “Then and Now”.

She added that this was the most successful year of the competition, as there were large number of people visited to see the fireworks presentations. She also said that they have collected funds for operating the Vancouver Fireworks Festival Society.

She said: "The society tried a few new wrinkles this year to generate revenue, notably bleacher seats on English Bay at $45 each. Without the support of sponsors, this would not happen. Making $30,000 off of bleacher seats is great, but it's not going to save the whole [festival]".

Moreover, Vancouver police have reported that this three-day competition has lead to various criminal activities.
