More people are today focusing on cutting the transport costs. An example of such can be seen in U. K., Spain and the U. S., where more number of people are riding in buses to cut their travel costs, said National Express Group Plc (NEX), a U. K. bus and rail operator.
The Company also released in a statement that it has cited more than double profit, as consumers are majorly opting for buses to cut their transportation costs. Net income, which was 19.2 million pounds a year earlier, has now risen to 54.1 million pounds (i. e. $89.3 million), the London-based bus and rail operator said today, in a statement.
According to the calculations, Company’s sales have rose by 5.6%to 1.12 billion pounds. Initially, the group borrowed money to expand in U. K rail, but now National Express group has started focusing primarily to improve the profitability of its bus and rail businesses.
The Company is “well placed” to improve its operations, Chief Executive Officer Dean Finch said in a statement. “We are focused on organic growth, new contract wins and carefully targeted opportunities in attractive markets”.
Also, there was news that the Company was stripped-off by the government in 2009, when it highlighted the fact of not being able to afford the funds to franchise the high- profile East Coast line between London and Scotland.
