In a startling revelation, it has been reported that Thomson Airways have started a new era by using cooking oil to run their airplanes! Unbelievable as it may seem, it has been revealed that they have started this as a part of a biofuel use to be able to reduce pollution and give out a little less carbon to the air.
After it receives a clearance for safety on July 28, this fuel is going to be more widely used in flying flights from Mallorca, Palma, and Birmingham and so on.
The authorities from the airlines have revealed that this fuel is going to be sued in a judicious mix with the normal jet fuel. The fuel from the kitchen is actually used cooking oil, the leftover.
Thomson Managing Director, Chris Browne said: “As sustainable biofuel become more commercially viable, Thomson Airways plans to expand its use of sustainable biofuel across its fleet over the next three years”.
There are newer things being tried by the airline firms for the purpose of reducing the impact on the environment and trying to save money and fuel. It is a matter of time which will decide on how viable the idea really is.
