Spain and Portugal to bid jointly to host the FIFA World Cup

Spain and Portugal have announced that they are going to bid jointly to host the FIFA World Cup in 2018 or 2022.
The delegates from the two nations in the leadership of Angel Maria Villar and Gilberto Madail, the presidents of the two countries' Football Associations have handed their proposal to the Joseph Blatter, FIFA president, and General Jerome Valcke, FIFA Secretary, in Zurich.
The Spanish federation said that the proposal has guaranteeda well organized and most festive football World Cup ever. It also said that the Spanish government and people are fully dedicated to the organization of World Cup.
Mr. Blatter said that Spain and Portugal are two great football playing nations with noteworthy experience in organization. Spain has hosted the World Cup in 1982, whereas Portugal has organized the European championships league in 2004.
Other nations willing to host the World Cup 2018 are England, Australia, Japan, Mexico and Russia, Belgium and Netherlands. The decision on this regard will be made by FIFA's executive committee in December 2010.
The FIFA World Cup 2010 will be hosted by South Africa while Brazil will organize World Cup in 2014.
