Spain’s largest solar facility to start by 2010 end

According to the recent reports, a solar power facility under construction in southwestern Spain will be the biggest in the country when it gets finished by the end of this year.

Moreover, the Spanish system integrator Assyce Fotovoltaica is developing a solar power facility in the autonomous area of Extremadura. After its competition, the facility will cover 170 acres and produce near about 42 million KW hours of electricity every year.

While talking to reporters, the managing director of Assyce Fotovoltaica, Luis Garrido said, “The solar profile in the region made the site ideal for photovoltaic technology.”

Further, Garrido said, “The area offers very good conditions for photovoltaics. Due to the high level of solar radiation in the south of Spain, we can expect a very good yield of electricity

The construction work on the solar facility started in the month of January, and the project should remove over 30 tones of dangerous greenhouse gases emission and offer huge amount of electricity to power more than 14,000 homes every year.

Garrido said, “We are making an important contribution to the climate protection and to the expansion of renewable energy resources.”
