Acciona SA, Spain’s second-largest wind-power operator, has paid out around 42.5 million euros (US$57.5 million) to former director Esteban Morras Andres for his interest in two of its plants.
Moreover, a pioneer in Spanish wind energy, Morras co-founded Corporacion Energia Hidroelectrica de Navarra SA, one of the country’s earliest wind-turbine operators, which was sold in 2003 to Acciona, then largely a construction company.
Morras, who left the company some time back, and was head of Acciona’s energy unit. He resigned from his post on June 4 in 2009 and was replaced by Carmen Becerril who was previously the company’s head of corporate resources.
Morras has spent around 1.9 million euros in EHN in 1996 for which he received the right to 1.4% of revenues.
His severance from the units, Acciona Energia SA and Acciona Windpower SA, was described on page 71 of the parent company’s 72-page corporate responsibility report for last year.
