Spain rushes 40 disaster relief experts to Haiti

According to the recent news by Spanish national radio, the country is sending 40 disaster relief experts to Haiti to find out the thousands missing in the rubble of buildings that collapsed in the huge earthquake.

Moreover, it said that the plane will leave overnight from military base outside Madrid for Port-au-Prince carrying 40 police, firefighters as well as members of the emergency services along with trained dogs.

They all will be followed by Secretary of State for Latin America Juan Pablo de Laiglesia and foreign ministry officials.

The country will also send surgeons, medical equipment and field hospitals through second flight.

The Spanish government has already issued 3 million euros as emergency aid to Haiti and announced it intended to send 3 planes loaded with 150 tonnes of humanitarian aid to its logistics base in Panama.

Around 100,000 people had lost their lives after a cataclysmic earthquake hit Haiti, filling the streets with corpses and burying thousands under razed schools, hotels and hospitals.
