Acciona acquires Wind Power Pioneer for $57.5 million

Acciona SA, Spain’s second-largest wind-power operator, has paid out around 42.5 million euros (US$57.5 million) to former director Esteban Morras Andres for his interest in two of its plants.

Moreover, a pioneer in Spanish wind energy, Morras co-founded Corporacion Energia Hidroelectrica de Navarra SA, one of the country’s earliest wind-turbine operators, which was sold in 2003 to Acciona, then largely a construction company.

Qatar, Spain Talk Over Tourism Cooperation

According to the sources, Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) chairman Ahmed Al Nuaimi has recently met with Spanish Ambassador to Qatar Juan Jose Santos-Aguado on tourism coordination between the two nations.

Moreover, the meeting comes after the European Roadshow organized by QTA promoting Qatar as a premier destination to business travel professionals in Europe, where Madrid was the first city on the tour.

Meanwhile, both the countries had talked over ideas on cooperation between the two countries on tourism, and various investments in tourism in both the private and public sectors.

Leather industry eyes growth in Spain

The leading export markets are looking forward for serious recovery in the Spanish market.

Council for leather exports (CLE), the leading body for development of Indian leather industry, is hoping to establish its first leather show in Madrid, Spain on March 22-26, 2010.

Even though, the council is holding road shows as well as B2B meetings over the past couple of years, CLE, for the first time, will host a show on a big scale to showcase leather products like finished leather, footwear, leather garments, leather goods and other goods as well.
